By creating a charity workspace you agree to these terms on behalf of your charity.
The service
Purpose Steward is a light-touch governance tool for UK charities. It supports governance, strategy and projects. It deliberately holds no charity finances, accounts or bank details.
Free trial and fees
- New charities get a 7-day free trial allowing up to 3 trustees, with no charge.
- After the trial, the Standard plan is £10/month including 10 trustees, plus £2.50/month per additional block of 5 trustees. Initiative and report contributors are free.
- Some charities may be placed on a "peppercorn" arrangement at Purpose Steward's discretion.
- Card details captured at signup are stored for future billing only. During the current release they are not validated or charged.
Your data and roles
- Your charity is the data controller for the information you enter; Purpose Steward is the data processor. See the Privacy Statement.
- Each charity's data is kept strictly separate; no charity can see another charity's data.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of what you record and for who you invite.
AI features
- If you enable AI assistance, the relevant text is sent to the AI provider you configure to generate drafts and summaries.
- AI output is a draft to help you — always review it before relying on or circulating it.
Availability and liability
- The service is provided "as is" without warranties. To the extent permitted by law, Purpose Steward is not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
- You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend accounts that misuse the service.
Changes and governing law
- We may update these terms; material changes will be notified. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
